Artemisia annua is an annual herb of Artemisia in Compositae. The plant has fragrance. The main root is single, the vertical stem is single, the height can reach 150 cm, the upper part is multi branched, the lower part is slightly lignified, the leaves are green or light green on both sides, glabrous; the lobes are oblong, the base part is cuneate, the petiole base has small semi amplexicaul; the head inflorescence is hemispherical or sub hemispherical, the base part has linear bracteoles, the outer involucre is narrow, long ovate or ovate lanceolate, the back is green , glabrous, inflorescence globose; flowers pale yellow; corolla narrow tubular, style protruding from corolla tube, achene oblong to elliptic.
