Catch in summer and autumn, scald to death with boiling water, dry in the sun or dry at low temperature. It is widely distributed in most areas of China. Hirudin is a kind of small molecular protein (polypeptide) composed of 65-66 amino acids, which has been extracted from leech and its salivary gland. Hirudin is rich in hirudin. Hirudin has a strong inhibitory effect on thrombin and is the strongest natural specific inhibitor of thrombin. Hirudin has strong anticoagulant and antithrombotic effects, and has broad application prospects in clinical treatment and prevention of various thrombosis.

Function

1.It is a naturally occurring peptide in the salivary glands of medicinal leeches (Hirudo medicinalis) that has a blood anticoagulant property.

2.Similar to antithrombin III, the anticoagulatant activity of hirudin powder is based on its ability to inhibit the pro-coagulant activity of thrombin.

3.It can prevent or dissolve the formation of clots and thrombi (i.e. it has a thrombolytic activity), and has therapeutic value in blood coagulation disorders, in the treatment of skin hematomas and of superficial varicose veins.

4. It has anti-inflammatory and lipid-lowering effect, reduces cholesterol, and treats the symptoms of arteriosclerosis.

5. Leech can improve the local circulation, absorb the hematoma of acute cerebral hemorrhage, relieve the increase of intracranial pressure, and help to restore the function of nervous system

6.It has the effect of breaking blood, removing blood stasis and dredging meridians. It can be used for the treatment of diseases such as Zheng Huang Pi Kuai, blood stasis meridians, falling injury, etc. However, it should be noted that Hirudo should be banned in pregnant women and patients without blood stasis.
