Dehydrocholic acid, with molecular formula c24h34o5 and molecular weight 402.52376, is a semi synthetic bile acid prepared by hydrogenation of bile acid extracted from animal bile. It is a white loose powder, odorless and bitter. MP 231-242 ºC, melting distance within 3 ºC. It is dissolved in  solution, slightly soluble in , slightly soluble in ethanol, and almost insoluble in water. It can stimulate the liver cells to secrete a large amount of low specific gravity and low viscosity bile, promote the drainage of bile, and is conducive to the discharge of bacteria, inflammatory products, toxins, gallstones and gallstones in the bile duct and gallbladder, and plays a role in flushing and cleaning the biliary system.
