Ligustrum lucidum, name of Chinese herbal medicine. This product is the fruit of Ligustrum lucidum plant. Winter fruits are picked when they are mature, and the branches and leaves are removed and dried, or the fruits are slightly smoked and dried; or they are dried in hot water and scalded.Dried fruit eggs form oval spheres, some are slightly curved, 5-10 mm in length and 3-4 mm in diameter. The skin is blue-black with wrinkles; the ends are obtusely rounded and there are fruit-stalk marks on the bottom. It is firm in quality and light in weight.

 

Oleanolic acid is a pentacyclic triterpenoid derived from the fruit of the genus Asteraceae, Syzygium sylvestris, or Ligustrum lucidum, which is present in the free body and glycoside in the plant. Oleanolic acid is widely present in plants and generally has a content of 0.2% to 2%. The content of the bottom of the cucurbitaceae plant is 1.5% to 2%, and the fruit content of the female scorpion is 0.6% to 0.7%. Oleanolic acid is white needle crystal (ethanol), odorless and tasteless. It is unstable to acid and alkali.
