It originates from Gansu, Shaanxi, Hubei, Sichuan, Yunnan etc.Astragalus is native to northerm China and the elevated regions of the Chinese Provinces Yunnan and Sichuan. The portion of the plant used medicinally is collected in the spring. The dried root of this herb is used in either tincture or capsule form. Astragalus is also an adaptogen, meaning it can help the body adapt to various stresses, and an antioxidant, meaning it can help the body fight free radicals.

 

Astragalus, also known as Huangqi, is the dry root of the leguminous Mongolian Astragalus or Astragalus membranaceus. Astragalus contains polysaccharides, flavonoids, saponins, various amino acids and trace elements, which are rich in nutrients and have pharmacodynamic effects. As a natural Chinese herbal medicine, it has low toxicity, both nutritional value and medicinal properties, and can improve the body's immunity.
